The Story Behind ADLikha Events
ADLikha combines two words: likha, which means "create" in Filipino, and ADL, which is the three-letter geocode for Adelaide, South Australia, where the creators currently reside. ADLikha has a similar pronunciation to adhika, another Filipino term which translates as "aspire" in English.

We use our experiences to deepen our personal and social relationships as migratory artists with a variety of backgrounds in the arts and strong ties to multicultural communities. In an attempt to overcome loneliness and longing, we set out on a mission to find experiences that would make us feel at home.
Motivated by deeply moving scenarios, we imagined a safe and transformative space for community involvement and life-changing encounters for the Filipino population as well as the larger Adelaide community.

We recognise that meaningful change is a collaborative effort, rooted in shared aspirations, purpose, and impactful actions.
Through ADLikha Events, we build a strong village where radical transformations ignite within our community and beyond.

We acknowledge this land that we meet on today is the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
We also pay respects to the cultural authority of Aboriginal people visiting/attending from other areas of South Australia/Australia.
